Former Nottingham Forest manager Steve Cooper has agreed to become Leicester City manager. Cooper, who was a former England Under-19 manager has decided to take over at the King Power Stadium after Enzo Maresca, who helped The Foxes win the title has left the club.

Steve Cooper is back in management after being out of the game since last December when he was sacked by Forest. His return to football, with Nottingham Forest’s arch-rivals, might taint his legacy at The City Ground.
That’s how some fans might see it, but it wasn’t his fault that he got
sacked. The Pine Trees only survived relegation by the skin of their teeth and the fact that Luton Town went on their worst run of the season at the worst time.

With Forest, Cooper did a respectable job, which is the same as we expect at the King Power, but it won’t be easy as there is a little cloud over the club due to falling on the wrong side of certain FFP regulations.

If anyone can manage a club in such circumstances it is Welshman Steve Cooper. Time will tell, but the initial reaction to the appointment here at The Sports Buff is that Leicester have found the right man to lead them forward.

Cooper is well versed with the Premier League, so settling into his new surroundings shouldn’t be an issue.
