This kind of love story is something that will only be on reality TV. Xavi Hernandez and Barcelona and Thomas Tuchel and Bayern Munich. Where do I begin?

One love story was a case of not knowing what you had till it’s gone and the other side was almost similar. Barca actually didn’t wait to try and win Xavi back. As soon as he said I was done, that was enough, the Blaugrana came chasing, begging for Xaxi Hernandez to come back.

I can imagine Joan Laporta with backing dancers ambushing Xavi and signing ‘Baby don’t hurt me, no more’. If that was it, let’s just for the sake of this article it was, it worked as the former Barca announced a change of heart and said he would stay.

But in a twisted direction of fate, which I can say has been taken out of a Narcissist’s playbook, Joan is reportedly set to dump Xavi and hire Barcelona B boss Rafa Marquez. It’s the Mexican charm isn’t it essey?

If the Spanish World Cup winner has trust issues again, can you blame him!? This is trust abuse on a whole different scale. Laporta is looking a little bit like a love rat here, in footballing terms.

Mr Xavi Hernandez if this is true, then run!

That brings us to Thomas Tuchel, the current Bayern Munich boss. His relationship with Bayern, became a complicated one when he was told his friends and allies Oliver Khan and Hassan Salihamzic couldn’t come around for dinner anymore.

Those two were very close to the former Chelsea manager. That was asking for trouble. It was bound to happen, but it was confirmed by both sides that they didn’t want to carry on the relationship beyond this season.

Having confirmed that Bayern thought they could go start courting some new love interests. The Bavarians saw the skirt and went after it, they even got themselves wanting to court ex-lover Julian Nagelsmann.

Julian wasn’t having any of it and said you dumped me once, not again. Other managers just weren’t interested as they now knew Bayern were something of a flirt.

After so many rejections Bayern Munich went back to their original love in this story, Thomas Tuchel. The former Borussia Dortmund manager like he had said from the start said no, I am not interested.

Fair play to him too. Xavi, take note you can learn something from him.
