Hull have sacked Head Coach Liam Rosenior after narrowly missing out on the Championship play-offs. The 1-0 defeat to Plymouth, ended their hopes and would also end the 39-year-old’s time at Hull City, which was 18 months.

Not since 2016 have The Tigers achieved a top-half finish this high, but even that wasn’t good enough for Hull’s owners. This sacking, the more I think about is more senseless.

Sports fans, I have to fight the urge to into full David Moyes getting sacked from West Ham mode. I can’t, I really can’t fathom, what do they want? Hull’s owners do they think they were going to get automatic promotion?

Next year is going to be harder, Burnley who will be coming down from the Premier League will be right in the promotion mix as will Sheffield United. Then, there’s Coventry to consider and maybe Portsmouth too.

With Pompey, yes they would have come up from League One, but maybe they could take the confidence across to a new league, just like Ipswich did. All-in-all, Hull doesn’t have a God-given right to be in the promotion picture, this was only due to the talented young manager they got there.

Sorry, that’s maybe not 100% true, Fabio Carvalho and Liam Delap are some examples of the talented players they had this season. In the case of these two that I mentioned, maybe they will go back to their parent clubs, Liverpool and Manchester City respectively.

So that will weaken The Tigers and make it arguably harder. Having heard the news through a particular media news outlet on the radio, allegedly in the interview, the Hull owner explained Rosenior’s exit due to the owners wanting the team to change playing style.

This is the most nonsensical argument. I strongly argue that counter-attacking football is on the come-back trail.
