Three-time defending World Champion Max Verstappen, who has been in imperious form the past two seasons, has started the new season in just as an impressive fashion, with a fourth win in five races.

The Red Bull racing driver had been reportedly set to leave the team and join Mercedes due to alleged allegations around team principal Christian Horner. I must emphasise these are accusations that Red Bull is firmly denying.

What is undeniable is that Verstappen’s Red Bull team are yet again the team to beat this year. Max’s Mexican teammate Sergio Perez is usually the man to show some sort of rear guard to the Dutchman, but on Sunday even he would succumb.

McLaren’s British driver whose reputation is getting boosted by each race it seems, finished in an impressive second. Former seven-time World Champion Lewis Hamilton had started the qualifying week impressively but faded badly due to some issues with his car.

Hamilton as a result had to start Sunday’s race in 18th, but did finish (considering his start), in a respectable 9th place.

Next up for Max Verstappen and co is the Miami Grand Prix, where again he will no doubt be the man to beat.
