Since the initial title alone was published for this article, it has indeed transpired that former Pakistan captain Babar Azam will be returning as captain, for the white-ball sides.

Love him or loathe him, the 29-year-old helped get his side into a World Cup final. Under Babar, Pakistan did have an air of calmness when it came to closing out run chases.

On the flip side, the men in green have lacked that bit of calmness in big games. The semi-final defeat against Australia was a bitter pill to swallow, especially since the 2009 World T20 champions were more than in the game.

Yes, I am going to be a tad biased, but I am happy Babar is back as captain. The Peshawar Zalmi skipper had built a good side that had secured many records and were number one in the world in the shorter format.

Commiserations must go to Shaheen Afridi, who just like Babar has been harshly sacked, but now with this mess tidied up in a very inconvenient way then just maybe, this can allow Pakistan to concentrate on looking to win the T20 World Cup, something that they have fallen short in, in the last editions of the T20 World Cup.
