The former Spurs striker was breaking record after record in the Bundesliga, it seemed the world was at his feet and maybe this is the first season he wins something in his impressive career.

On a personal level, England’s record goal scorer has broken pretty much all the individual records and won all the accolades there were in the English game. After the winter break, however, both Bayern’s and Kane’s form has taken a nose dive.

At the time of writing, the Bavarians had lost to Bayer Leverkusen at the Bayer Arena and also to Lazio in the first leg of their Champions League tie. The football world, ourselves here at The Sports Buff included were waiting for the Bayern Munich backlash, but it’s been forthcoming so far.

VFL Bochum, who were mid-table before the start of play, consolidated their position in the Bundesliga standings with a deserved 3-2 win. That’s three defeats on the bounce for Germany’s 12-time defending champions.

It begs the question how long does Thomas Tuchel have left as manager of Bayern Munich? His predecessor got sacked for a lot less. Former Chelsea manager Tuchel himself has been flirting with the Barcelona job it appears, even though he’s still in charge at Bayern.

Never one to be quiet or be adverse to drawing attention to situations, former Dortmund manager Tuchel appears to be burning bridges by the day. Performances on the field will do nothing to ease the uncertainty in Bavaria.

Former Germany manager Joachim Low, will no doubt be next to his phone waiting for it to ring. Uli, the man is a World Cup winner! With Jurgen Klopp soon to become unemployed, maybe worth giving him a ring?

Would Jurgen move over, considering the emotional attachment he had with Borussia Dortmund’s fans? I think not. The other name I am thinking of, is, you guessed it, Jose! The man is still an elite coach, Bayern could do a lot worse.

Why would the Portuguese manager be a good fit? He’s a winner and seems to revitalise faltering teams. Roma, Manchester United, Inter Milan and Chelsea are the examples that come to mind.

No one ever wants to see a manager sacked, but sorry Thomas, it seems the writing is on the wall.
