Seven-time F1 World Champion Lewis Hamilton is on the verge of a shock move to Ferrari. The former McLaren driver whose last world title came in 2020, is arguably seeking one last big move in an attempt to win one more world title before he retires from the sport.

As reported by the BBC, the move for the 39-year-old is very close to completion. Lewis Hamilton will be paired with Charles Le Clerc. This impending move for Hamilton sees years of speculation come to an end.

From afar, both car and driver had an admiration of each other from afar. In 2019, Lewis Hamilton and Ferrari had a round of talks, which ultimately led to nothing. Ever since the controversies of the 2021 season and the way it ended, one more move for Hamilton appeared likely.

It does come as a surprise Hamilton moving to the Italian giants, he only signed a new two-year deal with Mercedes not too long ago, but with Carlos Sainz’s contract issues rumbling on, a move of this magnitude more than makes up for it.

F1 testing will be starting next month, this is some way to kick this off!
