England spinner Jack Leach is looking doubtful for the second test with India after injuring his knee. Somerset spinner Leach, 32 was able to bowl 10 overs and take a wicket, but his overall contribution in the test was restricted.

He did not bowl in training on Wednesday as England prepare for the second Test in Visakhapatnam on Friday. If Leach loses his race against time to be fit, then Shoaib Bashir, Leach’s teammate could come in to replace him.

The uncapped Bashir, 20 was absent from the first test squad due to some visa issues, which have since been resolved.

Depending on the pitch, England could opt for two-seamers, which would see a straight shootout for the second-spinner position between Rehan Ahmed and Shoaib Bashir.
