Hello and good morning sports fans, I hope you’re well, looking after yourselves and are in good health. Sports fans, we need to talk, the topic of conversation? That will be tennis.
For those of you who like tennis and actively follow the sport will be aware that the Australian Open is getting into it’s latter stages. Here, we will take a look at the men’s semi-final matches.
Defending champion will be up against Italy’s Marek Skinner whereas Alexander Zverev will be up against former World Number One Daniil Medvedev. Both matches promise to be good match ups.
In the quarter-finals, we were spoiled to a classic. World number two Carlos Alcaraz, who won Wimbledon was up against the talented German Zverev. Coming into the match, many would have been expecting the Spanish youngster Alcaraz to have come out on top here.
With sport, whether it be team sport, or individual, matches are won on the day and that’s what happened here. Carlos Alcaraz was beaten by the better player on the day.
As for the semi-finals, both are mouth-watering prospects in their own right. The Italian, Skinner has had some memorable tussles with Novak Djokovic in recent months and has agonisingly come out on the wrong side of them.
As for the other semi, this could easily go five-sets, in my own humble opinion. Alexander Zverev has come back from injury not too long ago.
Having overcome scares in the early rounds, Novak has been at his devastating best. Mt prediction for this semi is that the Serbian legend Djokovic takes it in four-sets. You will beat him one day Marek, just not this day.
The other semi-final is too close to call. For all his talent, the German Alexander Zverev hasn’t been able to transfer his talent to Grand Slam titles or even finals. Against Medvedev, the German can change, we personally though think the Russian Daniil Medvedev takes it in 5.
