It started with good and has an element of bad, but now it includes ugly. Tottenham Hotspur’s transfer dealings can be described as such.
The Lillywhites sold Harry Kane, for nearly £100 million when the England captain was in the final year of his contract, that’s good for very good.
Kane has gone up to a whole other level since arriving in Bavaria, but money-wise, they got a good amount
Admittedly this is a controversial view, but without their former talisman, in parts, Tottenham look better for it.
Spurs’ transfer dealings have been bad because they have sold Eric Dier to Bayern Munich, o wait sorry that’s bad for Bayern if he’s that terrible and supposed to be a good deal for Ange’s men.
One can see in part why the Bundesliga champions have gone in for former England international Dier.
The Sporting Academy graduate can play at the heart of the defence and the heart of the midfield. Obviously, Joshua Kimmich plays tennis, hence why Bayern feel the need to sign Dier.
Make no mistake this is a good deal for the 30-year-old, but we’re very surprised with the deal. I am getting Adebayor to Real Madrid vibes, even though that was a loan deal.
Finally, the ugly part of Tottenham’s transfer window is the signing of Timo Werner, formerly of Chelsea.
Werner, who will be heading to North London till the end of the season, will be giving Ange Postecoglou’s team so extra bodies up top and Son Heun-Min leaves for the Asia Cup.
To be fair to Timo Werner he does have good movement, but the man isn’t one you would want in your S.W.A.T t team, think Darwin Nunez, they’re similar.
Maybe I am wrong with this, for Tottenham’s sake, I hope I am. So football fans, do you agree with my picks?
