Tottenham’s Hugo Lloris is close to ending his 11-year stay in North London and signing for MLS side LAFC.

Lloris who was the cub captain, has not saved a ball this season after saying he wanted to leave the club.

A move to Lazio appeared to be in the closing stages but broke down. The former Spurs club captain, as a result, has become third-choice behind number one Guglielmo Vicario and Fraser Forster.

For a servant as loyal as the French World Cup winner, it’s not probably the way he wanted to leave the club.

When this deal does get completed, which is expected to be a one-year deal, this move will see Hugo Lloris follow in the footsteps of former Spurs forward Gareth Bale, who would end up retiring from football after his stint in the MLS.
