After being well beaten in his first test as Pakistan captain, Shaan Masood and the team selection committee (if this is how the team sheet is decided), have rang the changes for the second test against Australia.
The tourists were well beaten in the first test in Perth and there was little consolation for Masood’s men.

Aamer Jamaal’s debut five-wicket haul was overshadowed by a very poor second-innings batting performance.

Fellow debutant Khurrum Shehzad who also impressed, will miss the rest of the series as a result. Visitors to Pakistan have rang the changes as a result of such a crushing loss.

For the second test, Mohammed Rizwan has been restored as wicket-keeper. A few solid warm-up scores worked in the 31-year-old’s favour.

As mentioned, Shehzad who will miss the rest of the series, will be replaced by Mir Hamza. Hamza, who is arguably seen as somewhat of an understudy to fellow left-arm seamer Shaheen Afridi, is a good choice.

Off-spinner Sajjid Khan comes in to replace Faheem Ashraf. Nouman Ali who was somewhat of a regular under former captain Babar Azam, hasn’t been picked.

Khan comes in to replace Abrar Ahmed, who was confirmed as unavailable for the tour, due to injury.

Naturally, Pakistan wouldn’t want to go down without a fight. Sadly for them, they’re on a 14-game losing streak.

On paper, they don’t seem set to be ending that anytime soon. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.
