Pakistani all-rounder Imad Wasim has announced he will be retiring from International duty with Pakistan, with immediate effect.
The 34-year-old, lower-order batsman, announced on his social media.
Swansea-born Wasim, who has played for English side Nottinghamshire Outlaws amongst other sides across, has a lot of International experience.
Imad has played 121 matches taken 109 wickets and scored 1,472 runs.
Of course, Imad Wasim will do what he feels best, but with Pakistan cricket under transition due to a change of captain across all formats, maybe Imad Wasim could have featured for his country in this period.
The quality of spinners isn’t great at the moment. Imad Wasim was part of the new-school spinner who was more than capable of opening the bowling and being threatened with the new ball.
Towards the end of his career, he reportedly got embroiled in some unsavoury off-field situations shall I say.
This might not be the best way to remember the man but matters on the pitch, there are not many like him.
Imad Wasim you will be missed.
