India and New Zealand over the years have produced some emotional matches and although this wasn’t quite that, the quality of cricket was worth beholding.

Batting first New Zealand made 273-all-out. Daryll Mitchell (130) and man of the moment Ravindra (75), helped the beaten-finalists of 2019 get to a score close to par.

In the cricketing circles they say, as long as you have runs on the board. For Tom Latham’s New Zealand, sadly they just didn’t quite have enough runs on the board.

India, lead by Virat Kohli’s 95, were able to win this one with four wickets and two over to spare. The former India captain Kohli, was five runs short from a record equalling 49th ODI hundred.

Hosts India remain the only side yet to taste defeat. Rohit’s men will be hoping they continue this momentum when they face England on Sunday 29th October.
