Scottish giants Rangers have appointed former Monaco and Genk manager Philippe Clement as their new boss. The 49-year-old Belgian replaces Michael Beale, who barely lasted one year in the role.
Clement joins the Gers on a three-and-a-half-year deal. No doubt after arch-rivals Celtic took Scottish football by storm by appointing an unknown manager to some, but a competent manager to others, Rangers wanted to take from the same playbook.
Former player Thomas Buchel seems to think so. The former midfielder worked with Philippe Clement at Genk.
The former Monaco boss took the former Ligue 1 winners to third in the table two seasons ago. Will he be the right choice or not?
Only time will tell.
