In a story that’s all too common, another Manchester United player signed during another managerial stint is not fighting for his future at the club.
Harry Maguire was the first player to be told, that affectively he has no future at the club and Jadon Sancho is close to being the second.
The former Borussia Dortmund winger has been linked with a move back to Germany, due to Sancho not being able to reach the dizzying heights he rose to at Sigunda Park.
There are several reasons why the Manchester City academy graduate has not been able to live up to his billing.
Sports fans, I will leave that for you to speculate why. The reason why I wanted to write this article, is to just remind those who think Jadon Sancho’s career is over.
Sancho can take inspiration from two players. The first player is Marcus Rashford, who appeared to be in the cold under former manager Ralf Ragnick.
There were constant rumours that PSG were readying a bid and the once Fletcher Moss amateur player, was set to opt for pastures new.
In the case of Marcus Rashford, a change of management revitalised him and now to suggest talk of a Rashford transfer is seen as ludicrous.
Another player is Aaron Wan-Bissaka, the former Crystal Palace defender. Wan-Bissaka seemed set for the Old Trafford exit door, but to his credit, he got his head down and improved his form.
The former Crystal Palace man improved his form so much that in last season’s FA Cup final, he was arguably Manchester United’s best player on the pitch.
Aaron Wan-Bissaka did keep Jack Grealish quiet for large parts of that final.
So to summarise, we don’t know the background of how Jadon Sancho’s Manchester United career got like this, but all is not lost.
But the former England winger has a lot of work to do.
