It was a story that was threatening to overshadow the summer, but the bosses at Bayern Munich were able to conclude a deal for England captain Harry Kane.

The record England goal scorer and Tottenham goal scorer opted to leave his boyhood club for Bayern in the search for trophies, something that’s eluded him in his illustrious career.

Kane, if early impressions are anything to go by has very quickly settled into life as Bayern Munich’s number nine.

Tottenham, Harry Kane’s former club have been tasked with the very unenviable task of replacing their record goal scorer.

This is no easy feat, especially with some of the stellar forwards that the Bavarian club have had over the years.

At the time of writing, news is emerging they have agreed on a deal to sign Nottingham Forest attacker Brennan Johnson.

The Nottingham Forest academy product has been on Spurs’ radar all summer. In some footballing quarters, Johnson has been branded as a Harry Kane replacement.

Which, simply put is too lazy of an opinion. Why I say this, it’s simply because it does a disservice to the Welsh youngster.

Before Nottingham Forest striker Taiwo Awoniyi’s recent goal splurge, it was the 22-year-old who was the source of goal for The Pine Trees.

Johnson will score goals, there’s no doubt, but to say that he will fill the shoes of Tottenham’s greatest goal-scorer? That’s some burden on the Welshman’s shoulders. vvhj

We like the thought of Gift Orban being given the chance to fill the void left by Kane or Victor Osimhen.

A deal for Napoli’s star man would be highly unlikely. Why? Simply because Aurelio Di Laurentis is the Italian version of Daniel Levy!

How I see it is the signing of Brenan Johnson will be to support Richarlison for now at least. The Brazilian striker is at his best when he’s the main man.

Look at Everton and currently with the Brazil national team, he’s a completely different player when he’s the star man.

Especially with such little time left of the transfer window, Richarlison will probably be given the responsibility of playing up front as the star man.

If he doesn’t do well from now till the end of the season, Laturo Martinez would be a good option for The Lillywhites, if he becomes available.
