Despite only being just two games in. champions Manchester City are facing a potentially make or break period in their season.

Why? Well, simply put their two star players are out injured. Kevin De Bruyne and John Stones are the two men that are out for up to four months and in the case of Stones, one month approximately.

The significance of the injuries of the two players is that De Bruyne well is Kevin De Bruyne, one of the best midfielders ever in the Premier League era.

KDB, he’s the heartbeat of the team. In a fully functioning body, you need the heart, a football team is no different.

Former Wolfsburg midfielder De Bruyne helps Man City tick along, he’s gonna be a huge loss.

Just like former Everton defender John Stones will be too. Now I say defender, but the 29-year-old reinvented himself as a holding midfield player.

This positional change was one of the tactical tweaks that Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has been famed for, but how well this worked, even he must have been pleasantly surprised.

City have not been champions for the past three seasons running by fluke, but this year appears to be their biggest test by far.

It’s a test, we think they will overcome, but the rest of the Premier League have their chance to pounce.
