Former Southampton, Arsenal and Everton winger Theo Walcott has retired from football aged 34.
The Southampton academy graduate, who would spend many of his developing years with Arsenal, retires from the game with the man himself saying he wants to experience life.
Walcott made a name for himself as a fresh-faced 17-year-old when, then-England boss Sven Goran Eriksson picked the winger in the 2006 World Cup squad.
Although Theo Walcott wouldn’t get game time in Germany in 2006, he would go on to make 47 appearances for his country, scoring eight times.
Last season with The Saints, Walcott made 20 appearances in the Premier League, scoring three times.
With Southampton relegated, the 34-year-old Walcott was released. Despite having some offers on the table, from both clubs in Saudi and the English Championship, Theo Walcott ultimately opted for retirement.
