England test captain Ben Stokes has come out of retirement from the ODI side, to play in this year’s ODI World Cup in India.

The Durham all-rounder who played a crucial innings to help The Three Lions win the 2019 final, will bring some much-needed quality to the side.

Stokes, 32 has been struggling with a long-standing knee complaint. England’s test skipper had a minimal impact with the ball, as he didn’t bowl too often.

It was speculated by cricket observers that Ben Stokes would play as a specialist batsman as a result of his inclusion.

Only Stokes himself and the England management will know how they will use the all-rounder. Ben Stokes was going to use the time when the World Cup was being held, to rest his knee.

That however has changed with his reversed retirement decision and now inclusion in England’s ODI World Cup squad.

They are the holders of the trophy and won’t want to relinquish it, without a fight.
