Hello, good morning sports fans, I hope you’re well. I hope you’re looking after yourself and are in good health.

Sports fans, we need to talk about sports and in particular football, Premier League football. After what seemed like a year-long absence, the new season will be starting this weekend.

Most clubs have signed players, as all clubs look to improve on last season’s and beat rival clubs to players to sign before the 1st September transfer deadline day.

All clubs will have to do this with the need to keep an eye on financial fair play (FFP). Wolverhampton Wanderers are one of those sides.

Wolves have been one of the lowest spenders in previous windows and this window, have brought back Matt Doherty on a free transfer.

With outgoings such as captain Ruben Neves for £47 million, fans of the Midlands club are getting very frustrated with the way business, or the lack of it is getting conducted.

Jeff Shi, The Wanderers chairman hasn’t done too much to allay such fears. Those fears have escalated with the news that former Spain and Sevilla manager Julien Lapotegui has left his post.

Such a decision seemed inevitable. What is it with Lapotegui and leaving posts before tournaments/ competition starts?

The former Real Madrid manager’s replacement? Gary O’Neil. Does these chain of events sound familiar? Well, something similar happened last term.

Then Bournemouth manager Scott Parker, after losing 9-0 to Liverpool early in the season last year, abruptly left, who replaced Parker? O’Neil.
Last season, the former Portsmouth midfielder O’Neil, helped The Cherries comfortably avoid the drop.

This year, the 40-year-old has an even trickier task. Keep Wolves in the Premier League, and keep them up with no further signings most likely.

Is anyone up for the job? Up step Gary O’Neil, the man who has tackled one fire at The Vitality Stadium.
