The recently appointed skipper of the limited overs side, will need six weeks to rest from a wrist injury.

Even though the 30-year-old played through the pain in the fifth test of The Ashes.

To have any chance of being fit for the World Cup in India this autumn, then some recuperation is needed.

Australia who are the T20 champions and test champions, will be looking to wrestle the ODI title off England who won their first World Cup crown in 2019.
