Former Manchester City striker Gabriel Jesus, will not be available for the start of the season after suffering a knee injury.
The injury looks to be a recurrence of the injury that cut short the former Palmeiras striker’s game time last season.
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta, expects the injury to be cleared in the next few weeks.
The Gunners having a busy transfer window, which has seen them spend close to £200 million, will mean a balancing of the books is needed.
Two sellable assets that they have are their two forwards. Eddie Nketiah and Folarin Balogun.
Nketiah, who seemed set to leave last summer was promised a more significant role, but this looked to have changed with the signing of Kai Havertz and Jesus returning to first-team action.
Balogun, who impressed with Reims last term, looked set to move to AC Milan, but that appears to be in doubt.
Arsenal are back in the Champions League after an absence of several years. They need good squad depth, which was something that cost them dearly last term.
