You can’t keep the Saudi League out of the sports pages in this transfer window.
Just when you thought Saudi Arabian clubs have finished signing some of the premium talent from the Premier League, news has emerged Al Ahli have all but completed the signing of Riyadh Mahrez.
Not be outdone Al-Nassr have completed the signing of Alex Telles from Manchester United for an undisclosed fee.
The former Porto left-back who was on loan at Europa League winners Sevilla, knew that his days at Old Trafford were numbered.
Players such as Brozovic, Mendy, Kante, Neves and many more have joined the Saudi Pro League, but the Al-Hilal have upped the stakes and have reportedly bid £259 million for French striker Kylian Mbappe.
This deal would allow Mbappe to join Real Madrid next season on a free transfer. Everything must come to an end they say.
For the Pro League, the only way it will end is if FIFA steps in. Moneywise, the Saudis have shown they have bottomless pits of wealth.
The Premier League constantly boasts of being the best league in the world, but not even they with all their financial might from the big deals agreed with TV companies and other commercial deals, allows them to compete financially.
