Leicester and Leeds have been relegated from the premier league in a dramatic final day, but Everton survive the drop with a 1-0 against Bournemouth, courtesy of a superb strike from Abdoulaye Dacoure.

In a day that was filled with drama at the bottom of the table. At the start of the day, the remaining two teams were yet to be decided, the two teams who were going to join the already relegated Southampton.

Leeds in their game against Tottenham, knew bar a miracle they will be relegated to the Championship. The Lillywhites got off to the worst possible start, first conceding an early goal, from a Harry Kane strike and then going 2-0 down from a goal by Pedro Porro.

Jack Harrison did pull a goal back, but Spurs would get further goals from Kane who got his second of the game and Lucas Moura, who will be leaving the club.

For the Brazilian Moura, it’s a fitting way to go out, his last touch in a Tottenham shirt was a goal. Leeds’ relegation rivals Leicester knew they needed a win to stand a chance to prolong their eight-year stay in the Premier League.

To be fair to The Foxes, they did their side of the bargain, they needed to win their game against West Ham and they did. Goals from Harvey Barnes and Kelechi Iheanacho put Leicester in charge of their own fate for a short while, especially since Everton were being held by Bournemouth.

This scoreline would change however when Mali midfielder Dacoure, struck a volley sweetly into the bottom corner to send the Everton fans into ecstasy. So 1-0 it would stay then and The Toffees maintain their top-flight status for another year.

That’s their 70th year in the top flight. As for Leicester and Leeds, they will have to contend with life back in the top flight.
