So Casmerio is going to sign for Manchester United

Man United fans, pinch yourselves. Yes, that’s right, because your team is going to sign one of the best players, in their position Casemiro. The 30-year-old Brazilian, who will be arguably surplus to requirements, will sign for The Red Devils in a deal in the region of £60 million (plus £10 million).

The former Porto loanee, who for his native Brazil plays with soon-to-be clubmate Fred, is seen as a vital piece of the jigsaw for United. Easily one of the best in his position, with only N’Golo Kante coming close to him, the Brazilian will beef up a timid Manchester United midfield.

Critics will say the 30-year-old is only going to Old Trafford for the money, but with 18 trophies won in his career, what else has Casmeiro got to prove? He is entitled to reward himself after a stellar career, I humbly think.

In the first leg of the semi-final between Manchester City and Real in the Champions League, it was nothing short of a basketball match, why? Due to Casemiro being absent/unavailable.

The soon-to-be Real Madrid man will be an upgrade on McTominay for sure but he will only be a good signing if used properly. I read on the internet that Jadon Sancho is not a good signing and he’s this, that and the other.

To be quite frank, such opinions are nothing short of embarrassing. The former Dortmund man was superb for BVB, as he was used correctly. All be it a short stint Michael Carrick, played Sancho in the right position and guess what? He did well in Carrick’s short tenure.

I know there will be some doubting Casemiro if he has a slow start to life in the Premier League, let’s make this clear. The 30-year-old Casemiro is one of the best in his position for the last three/four seasons bar Kante.

If Erik Ten Haag doesn’t get the right players around him than Casemiro will be as good as Scott McTominay, sorry Scott but like with many other Manchester United players you have underperformed.

The 30-year-old Brazilian will be signing on a four-year deal (something which Fergie wouldn’t have agreed to as he had a 30 and over policy). So, in my opinion, he’s a good player and a good signing. What I also think is they have paid over the odds, when a player like Benjamin Andre of Lille who’s of similar age, potentially available.

One is a Champions League winner and the other Ligue1 winner. Casemiro wins hands down, but the United owners lead the football world to believe they have no cash to spend on players.

The fact the former Real Madrid is 30, it shows a lack of planning. The United of old would sign a Calvin Stengs an Aurelien Tchouameni. As a Manchester United fan, I want to be proven wrong, wrong in the sense that Casemiro can do a job for five years solid and that he was money well spent.

No doubt he’s a good player, the issue I have is that his signing shows poor planning, and yes there’s a hint of ‘panic buy’. Do you agree or disagree with my comments?
