Plenty of games were crucial in the Championship before international duties began as the promotion, play-off and relegation fights remain captivating to football fans.

The action kicked off on Tuesday night where Watford hosted Wrexham at Vicarage Road as those two sides battled it out to keep play-off hopes alive.

The home team were victorious as Edoardo Bove’s 94th minute goal secured a 3-1 win for The Hornets against Phil Parkinson’s side.

On Wednesday night, Southampton earned an important victory in their aim for the top six after defeating Norwich City 1-0 as Finn Azaz scored the only goal of the game.

On Friday night, Preston North End broke their seven-game winless run with a 3-1 triumph over Stoke City as Alfie Devine bagged a brace for the Lilywhites.

Moving to Saturday, the top two would remain unchanged as Ipswich Town could only draw 1-1 with promotion rivals Millwall.

Blackburn Rovers and Middlesbrough would finish their match goalless, still benefitting themselves with a point but knowing that they could’ve achieved something better.

Rhian Brewster’s 43rd minute strike was enough for Derby County to take three points in their 1-0 home win against Birmingham City as The Rams are three points from the top six.

Wrexham came from behind to defeat Sheffield United 2-1 as Josh Windass and Sam Smith were the saviours for the away side.

Norwich City hold on to a 1-0 lead from the fifth minute and bounce back against Charlton Athletic as Pelle Mattsson’s goal was enough for three points.

Paul Smyth, Rayan Kolli and Richard Kone all scored braces in Queens Park Rangers’ dominant 6-1 victory over Portsmouth at Loftus Road.

Leicester City remain in the relegation zone after drawing 0-0 with Watford, despite being only one point away from survival in the Championship.

Hull City returned to winning ways as the beat already relegated Sheffield Wednesday 3-1 to maintain their fifth place spot in the play-offs.

Finally, Coventry City’s first half dominant display was more than enough for the league leaders to secure a 3-0 win over Swansea City as The Sky Blues are nine points clear in the first place.
