The Motorpoint Arena hosted Night Six of the BetMGM Premier League as darts fans were not disappointed with outstanding matches and performances.
Josh Rock and Stephen Bunting kicked things off as ‘The Bullet’ dominated with a 6-1 victory, still leaving the Northern Irishman with no points scored in the competition.
After a close contest for six legs, Jonny Clayton comfortably sailed away with a win to defeat Michael van Gerwen 6-3.
Despite only one 180 landing between Luke Humphries and Gian van Veen, ‘Cool Hand’ got the better of the Dutchman to win 6-4 and proceed to the semi-finals.
In the final quarter-final, it was a very exciting matchup as Luke Littler won the deciding leg to beat Gerwyn Price 6-5, repeating history from last week’s match with ‘The Iceman’.
In the last four, ‘The Ferret’ had a similar match compared to his clash with MVG as he defeated Stephen Bunting 6-3 to book a place in another Premier League final.
‘The Nuke’ once again had an 11-leg bout, but this time he was on the receiving end of a loss as Humphries won 6-5 to enter his first final of the competition.
What was thought to be a close match, turned out to be the opposite as Clayton dominated to triumph 6-1 against the reigning champion, winning his second night.
The Welshman is currently flying the standings as he’s earned an eight-point gap from second place, while Humprhies remains outside the top four in fifth, despite being on the same points as Price and van Veen.
