The UK Open took place in Minehead from Friday-Sunday as at no surprise, plenty of shocks were produced throughout the tournament.

Some unexpected moments included Gian van Veen’s exit in the second stage after a 10-7 loss to Rob Cross, as well as Gerwyn Price’s unbelievable comeback in the last 16 as he came from 9-4 down to beat Keane Barry 10-9.

Danny Noppert only reach the quarter-final stage, but produced an unforgettable moment as he hit a nine-darter in the second stage of the competition against Dimitri van den Bergh.

After four outstanding matches in the quarter-finals on Sunday, it was down to the last four competitors.

James Wade booked his place in back-to-back finals of the UK Open as his scoring did the trick to beat Price 11-8, throwing an average of 105.53 and claiming an impressive checkout of 167.

Luke Littler proceeded to the final in another tough test against Josh Rock as while the finishing wasn’t at a great standard for ‘The Nuke’, his scoring was a massive help to victory.

The final was a repeat of last year as Littler and Wade met before where the 19-year-old won 11-2 to earn his first UK Open title.

This time, the matchup was a lot closer, but it seemed that Wade was throwing all of his best darts in the semi-final as he lost his mojo in the last four legs.

Littler won 11-7 to win back-to-back UK Open titles, ending the week with plenty of success after grabbing his first night triumph in the Premier League on Thursday.
