Cardiff hosted the fifth night of the BetMGM Premier League as two particular stars were hoping to impress in their home country.

The first match began with Luke Humphries going head-to-head with Michael van Gerwen as ‘Cool Hand’ dominantly took the victory with a 6-1 win.

Jonny Clayton was backed by his Welsh supporters which led him to triumph 6-4 against Gian van Veen to proceed to the last four.

Gerwyn Price made the Cardiff International Arena go wild as he won the deciding leg against Stephen Bunting to edge a 6-5 victory against Night Four’s winner.

In the last quarter-final, Luke Littler finally won in the Premier for the first time since Night Two as he defeated Josh Rock 6-4 in a close contest.

On to the semi-finals, Humphries teased a comeback as he went from three legs behind to one, but ‘The Ferret’ managed to secure the win in the 10th leg to defeat the Englishman 6-4.

‘The Nuke’ was on form against ‘The Iceman’ as he didn’t give Price much of a chance, throwing an average of 111.05 and finishing a 6-3 victory with a 170 checkout to progress to the final stage.

The final was an eye-catching battle with Littler on the chase to defeat Clayton in enemy territory in order to pick up his first night win in the Premier League.

Despite the Welshman going 4-3 up, the 19-year-old took control of the match to win 6-5 and finally picked up some redemption in the competition.

In the standings, Clayton remains at the top with a five-point gap from second place, while Littler’s victory places him in third on the same points as Price and van Veen who also remain in the top four.
