Former Brondby and Brentford boss Thomas Frank has been sacked by Tottenham after less than eight months in charge. Frank, 51, was appointed after Spurs sacked the very popular Ange Postecoglou, who won them their first trophy since 2008.

As much as I always wish a manager gets time to turn around his fortunes at a club, sadly for Thomas Frank, things were getting from bad to worse. The former Brentford boss leaves The Lillywhites in 16th place.

Tottenham are winless in their last eight games; they haven’t been on a winless run this bad since 2008. Famed for his front-foot attacking football, fans didn’t see to much of that during Frank’s time in charge.

Of course, there were injuries, but a club the size of Tottenham Hotspur should never be this close to the drop zone. Marseille manager Roberto De Zerbi, who quit his role after a 5-0 loss to arch-rivals PSG over the weekend, is the early frontrunner for the vacancy.

As The former Brighton manager De Zerbi was heavily linked with the Spurs job before Daniel Levy opted for Thoas Frank instead.
