It was a double whammy for the Skybet Championship this week as Football fans prepared for plenty of action.

Lewis Baker’s brace and a first goal in 10 years for Steven Nzonzi gave Stoke City a comfortable 3-0 win away to Oxford United.

Despite having plenty more chances than the opposing team, Ipswich were only able to earn a point at Portman Road against Watford in a 1-1 draw.

Despite an Alfie Jones red card in the 90th minute, Luke Ayling became Middlesborough’s saviour with a 96th minute equaliser, cancelling out Jordan Ayew’s late first half goal for Leicester City to finish the match 1-1.

Birmingham City displayed dominance in their home game against Millwall, winning 4-0 with four separate goal scorers.

Coventry City came from behind to defeat Sheffield United 3-1 as Chris Wilder’s side suffered a third consecutive loss.

In a rather entertaining matchup between two teams who are on a poor run of form, Sheffield Wednesday drew 1-1 with Norwich City.

Southampton ended their five-game winless run as they held on to beat Queens Park Rangers 2-1.

Preston North End put on a defending masterclass to earn three points in a 2-1 home win against Swansea City.

Portsmouth could not take advantage of their opportunities as they drew 0-0 with Wrexham at Fratton Park.

Heading into the weekend, on Friday night, Watford settled a 1-1 draw against Bristol City, leaving the Robins without a win in three.

John Eustace managed against his former club, giving Derby County a 2-1 victory away to Blackburn Rovers and claiming their fifth win in a row.

Millwall were held to a 1-1 draw against Preston North End with both sides staying in the play-off zone, heading into the international break.

Hull City salvaged a vital triumph in a five-goal thriller to defeat Portsmouth 3-2 and place themselves fifth in the table.

It was a match to forget for Cameron Burgess who scored a brace of own goals to give Ipswich a 4-1 win over Swansea City.

Ephron Mason-Clark stole three points for Coventry City in their 1-0 away win against Stoke City, putting the Sky Blues five points clear at the top of the table.

West Brom made an important turn-around to beat Oxford United 2-1, leaving Gary Rowett’s side just three points outside the relegation zone.

Southampton earned a convincing 3-1 win against Sheffield Wednesday which sees rise closer to mid-table, while the Owls remain at the bottom.

Sheffield United vs QPR finished goalless in a 0-0 draw as both teams are now winless in four games.

Middlesborough returned to second place after defeating Birmingham City 2-1, still leaving questions for the Boro since Rob Edwards looks to be joining and taking charge of Wolves.

Jordan James gave more misery for Norwich City as he scored a 92nd minute winner to give Leicester City a 2-1 victory.

Finally, Wrexham prevailed thanks to a 77th minute penalty from Josh Windass to give the Welsh side a 1-0 win over Charlton.
