It’s not often you see any EFL matches played on a Thursday night, but this particular game will be unforgettable for one team and haunting for the other.
Huddersfield Town hosted Bolton Wanderers in the 12th week of SkyBet League One.
Both teams were just outside the play-off zone, however, The Terriers were just a win away from entering the top six.
In the first seven minutes of the game, Leo Castledine gave Lee Grant’s side an early lead after scoring a header from a corner.
For more than eighty minutes, Huddersfield were able to hold on to their lead as they were closing on the play-off zone.
But, in the 93rd minute, Sam Dalby directed his header across goal and into the top corner to give The Trotters a late equaliser and potentially rescue a point.
Two minutes later, Steve Schumacher’s team were on the counter-attack as Mason Burstow played a well-timed pass to Amario Cozier-Duberry, who just managed to beat the goalkeeper at the far post to win the game.
Of course, the atmosphere was nothing but electric in the away end at the Accu Stadium, leaving Bolton just a point away from the play-offs after their 13th game of the season.
