World number one Judd Trump defeated Barry Hawkins 10-8 in an absorbing game to become a two-time UK Championship winner. The win at York for former World-champion Trump sees him win at The Barbican Centre, 13 years after his first title.

Along the way to the final, Judd beat some very good players, including John Higgins, world champion Kyren Wilson, and Neil Robertson, by a 6-3 score.

In past tournaments (The Triple Crown), Trump has played well in parts but has been punished for one bad session in matches, which ultimately cost him the game. However, this week, it just didn’t seem that Judd Trump was going to lose his focus.

It’s been a brilliant tournament with plenty of shocks. Defending champion Ronnie O’Sullivan lost to Barry Hawkins, and qualifier Michael Holt advanced to the quarter-finals.

Next up in the snooker calendar is The Masters in January.
