After spending a good part of the summer chasing Manchester United’s Scott McTominay, Fulham appear to have ended that chase by stepping up their efforts to sign Burnley’s Norwegian defensive-midfielder Sander Berge.
Berge who is a former Sheffield United player, has been heavily linked with a move to Man United these past couple of weeks. For one reason or another, a move hasn’t materialised. With a transfer to Old Trafford going cold, I suggested Liverpool step in and try and sign the Norway star.
The Reds were more interested in Real Sociedad’s Martin Zubimendi and put all their efforts into trying to secure Spain’s Euro 2024-winning midfielder. With that move not getting done, it appears to be seen where Liverpool will go from here.
Fulham have reportedly put in a £25 million bid, plus £5 million in add-ons, The Cottagers await Burnley’s response.
