Manchester City signed Savinho or Savio from Troyes. one of Man City’s partner clubs for a fee in the region of £30.8 million. The 20-year-old starred on loan at La Liga surprise package Girona last season where the Catalan side finished behind Real Madrid and Barcelona.
After having numerous loans around Europe, including at Dutch giants PSV, it was in Spain last term with Michel’s La Liga giant Killers where he made the biggest impact.
The eight-cap Brazilian youngster scored 11 goals and grabbed 10-assists for last season. Savio’s arrival appeared to signal a potential end to Jack Grealish’s City career, who lost his club-level place to Jeremy Doku and his England place to Ebrechi Eze.
This signing also comes with some controversy. Cross-City rivals Manchester United wanted to sign Jean-Clair Todibo from Nice, but the deal was blocked as part-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe owns the French side.
Todibo has since joined West Ham on loan.Fancy smelling nice for the summer?
