Brighton have made history by naming Fabian Hurzeler as their new boss. Hurzeler has become the youngest boss in Premier League history in the process. For those who ate thinking what about Ryan Mason?

The former Spurs midfielder was an interim boss. The 31-year-old Hurzeler last season won the Bundesliga 2 title with St Pauli, but will of course come across a lot of sceptics about whether he is good enough for the Premier League.

Admittedly, we don’t know too much about him, but word on the street for my more illustrious colleagues in journalism in Germany has given Fabian Hurzeler a glowing report.

With Brighton being as well-run as they are, the chances are they have found themselves a little gem. If you cast your mind back, some people in the football world were sceptical of what Roberto De Zerbi could do at the Amex Stadium.
