Former Derby and Birmingham manager Wayne Rooney is back in management after five months out of work. The former England captain is has been named Plymouth’s new boss.
The 38-year-old Rooney come to Home Park, looking to restore his reputation somewhat after enduring a difficult spell with Birmingham City. The Pilgrims were after a new boss after they got rid of former boss Ian Foster.
Plymouth were able to survive in the Championship after they beat Hull on the final day. Appointing Rooney doesn’t come with out risk, which the Plymouth owners will only be too aware of.
