World Champion Max Verstappen got back to winning ways with a commanding performance in the Imola Grand Prix. Last year, of course, this Grand Prix was remembered in much more difficult circumstances, where people tragically lost their lives due to the flooding. 

Thankfully, there were no such incidents of such nature and on the grid, normal service resumed. World champion Verstappen won the race, but the man who took the chequered flag was a bit of a surprise, it was Lando Norris. 

The Brit was less than one second behind the three-time defending World Champion (0.7 seconds), who follows up the MacLaren driver’s maiden win at the Miami Grand Prix. 

Despite the recent encouraging showings in a recent race by Norris, Max Verstappen has a massive lead over the chasing pack. The Dutch world champion has a 48-point lead over Ferrari’s Charles Le Clerc who finished on a podium place in Imola. 

The F1 season moves to Monte Carlo next, a homecoming race for Ferrari’s Le Clerc. Race weekend starts on 24th May.
