Pakistani seamer Mir Hamza has agreed to join Welsh County side Glamorgan for the first seven games of this year’s County Championship season. The 31-year-old Hamza’s move to Wales sees him reunited with Grant Bredburn.

New Zealand coach Bredburn did coach Hamza when the pair were in Pakistan together. Mir Hamza’s move to the County Championship is his second spell in England having played for Sussex in 2019.

He has taken 434 wickets in first-class cricket at an average of just over 22, and has a similarly strong record in T20 cricket, averaging 29 with best figures of 4-9. The Karachi Kings is a very talented bowler but arguably has been in the shadows of bowlers such as Shaheen Afridi and Mohammed Amir.

This move at the peak of his career, could help him cement his place in the Pakistan team, in time for the up-and-coming touring of England in May.
