Brighton have completed the signing of sought-after Boca Juniors player Valentin Barco. The 19-year-old was heavily linked with Premier League champions Manchester City, where some outlets had said a deal had been struck between the two clubs.

That didn’t prove to be the case and The Seagulls have signed a player who is seen as a very talented for his age. Not only can Barco play as a full-back, but the former Boca man can play a wing-back or a winger, or other positions across the midfield.

Valentin Barco’s signing keeps up Brighton’s recent transfer policy of buying South American. Joao Pedro, via Watford, doesn’t properly count, but the signing of Caicedo and MacAllaister, as well as Julio Enciso, proves my point.

Brighton continue signing players with the most minimal amount of fuss. Bar Mohammed Kudus, usually when they want a player, more times than not they sign that player.
