Newcastle continued their difficult run of form, after losing to Premier League champions Manchester City 3-2 in last-gasp circumstances.
This win for the Premier League champions has taken them up to second in the Premier League table, just two points behind current league leaders Liverpool.
Not to sound like I know it all, but that’s how it will sound no doubt. When Manchester City beat Everton upon their Club World Cup return, I felt that City would go on to win the Premier League.
I am aware that no side have won England’s top domestic title four years in a row.
What made me say that they will, well, yesterday’s game for The Cityzens reminded when Manchester United played Sunderland Aston Villa all those years ago.
Just like Man City are now, Manchester United were then. They were seen as a club who were bigger than everyone else due to their financial clout.
Man United just like City are them, do also have a side that possesses superb team spirit. Man City didn’t acknowledge they were beaten, to their credit they dug in.
The returning Kevin De Bruyne helped inspire his side by scoring and providing a superb assist for talented young sub and Norway International Oscar Bobb.
That moment alone reminds me of then Manchester United striker Frederico Macheda scoring the winner for The Red Devils against Aston Villa.
Man City, just in my opinion, appears to have gone into hunting mode. When Pep’s men get like this, they’re very dangerous.
The rest of the Premier League you have been warned.
