India have started their rebuild after their World Cup 2023 defeat, by handing coach Rahul Dravid a new contract.

Dravid who was appointed in 2021 off the back of impressing for the Delhi Daredevils and India Under-19’s, has agreed a new deal, after his old deal expired at the end of the 2023 World Cup.

The new deal agreed by former India captain Dravid is unclear, but it’s expected he will stay till 2024 at least.

As a legendary number three batsmen in a side that included many Indian greats, Rahul Dravid himself had some great stats.

Dravid played 164 tests for his country and scored a whopping 13,288 runs, which is the fourth-highest of all time.

The man as a coach, has impressed. His Indian side won the Asia Cup after beating Sri Lanka at a canter in the final.

There have been some heartaches along the way for sure, but there has been clear progression too.
